Go Away

(Tracy Elliott)
July 1, 2000
I wrote this song from the perspective of an extremely co-dependent relationship. The alcohol and the bottle are just analogy of the unheathly relationship.
Go Away (Leave Me Alone)

I'm opening up these veins as I drink from the flask of poison that fills me up with joy
A joy that I'm just not used to but I'm numb and it feels good because now you've gone away
To get you out of my head it a task in and of itself piercing through my skin and
Flowing through my blood as if you are a part of me and my existence

And I say
Go away leave me alone
I know you don't understand
That I need you too much for you to stay
Go away leave me alone

So please hand me my poison as I sit down all alone and I dream of joy
A joy that you never gave me so I search for the solution to the pain now that you’ve gone away
You want the power over of my body, mind and soul so you force feed the bottle and laugh
Laughing at the polluted blood as it flows out of me onto you

And I say
Go away leave me alone
I know you don't understand
That I need you too much for you to stay
Go away leave me alone

Look at you staring at me like some god forbidden fruit
Too perfect to taste
Well it does no good to scream so please just hand me my bottle
And watch yourself fade back into you
